The Ghana Police Service, GPS, has cleared the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Kofi Adams of stealing state vehicles.

According to the Criminal Investigation Department, the five vehicles that were seized from the NDC top shot are his personal property and not for the State as earlier insinuated.

The five vehicles consist of two V8 Land Cruisers and three Nissan pick-ups.

Confirming the development, the Public Relations Officer of the CID, Joseph Benefo Darkwa, said: “This afternoon the Police released the five vehicles that came to our custody to Kofi Adams after investigations have revealed that the cars are not state property.”

The CID PRO however declined to explain how the department reached the conclusion or confirmed allegations that Kofi Adams had the chassis numbers of the vehicles changed after stealing them from the state.

ASP Darkwa, while responding to enquiries on these from Citi News, said: “I don’t want to go there…, I don’t want to go any further please.

“The bottom line is we wanted to know whether they belong to the state or not and I must say none of the vehicles belonged to the state so we have released the vehicles to Mr kofi Adams.”
