President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described current outcry and criticisms trailing his recent nomination of four ministers of state and 50 deputy ministers as brouhaha.
According to the President, who was reacting to the gale of criticism over the 110 ministers for his administration, the highest so far in the Fourth Republic, if he succeeds, the ‘brouhaha’ will be nothing compared to success.
Akufo-Addo, who made the remark on his official Twitter handle, @NAkufoAddo, said “It is better to have men and women capable of serving the nation’s interests and to work to grow the economy”.
“If I succeed, you will soon find out the brouhaha is nothing compared to the success,” he tweeted.
The voices of criticism against the decision of the president to have 110 ministers has been on the increase, not just from the opposition but also from civil society groups and individuals.
The Center for Democratic Development, in a statement on Thursday, described the large size of Akufo-Addo’s government as obscene and unprecedented.
