Operatives of the Economic and Organized Crimes Office, EOCO, have arrested the younger brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama.

According to reports, Ibrahim was picked up for interrogation over some dud cheques he issued to the Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at the Tema Port to clear some heavy duty equipment he had imported.

It is however yet unclear if the younger Mahama would also be questioned over allegations of fraud made against him by controversial Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong.

The Assin Central lawmaker, had during a interview on Oman FM, alleged that Ibrahim Mahama defrauded the state of almost 14million cedis by taking advantage of the position of his brother to perpetuate criminal activities against the state.
