A former Member of Parliament, Baba Jamal, has said members of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, will not accept a no from former President John Dramani Mahama in running again for the presidency in 2020.

According to the former MP, the now opposition party is desperate to win back the presidency and therefore cannot afford to choose another presidential candidate from the scratch.

Baba Jamal, a former Deputy Minister of Labour and Employment, stated this in an interview on Okay FM, insisting that the former President will contest for the NDC even if he [Mahama] is not willing to contest again for the party.

“If President Mahama says he is not contesting again, we will demonstrate against him; we will march to his house to demonstrate till he consents to contest for the party because we don’t have any leader apart from him.

“If he doesn’t contest who will contest for us”, Baba Jamal asked.

Continuing, the former MP, who insisted Mahama will contest because of the love he has for the party and the people of Ghana, said the achievements of former President Mahama is not comparable to any former leader of the country, making him the obvious choice for the party.
